Elevator Pitch No. 2

RFIP GLOVES ELEVATOR PITCH

The Pitch:

Feedback Analysis:

I received some valuable feedback! It was mainly about the product instead of the quality of the video. Which is fantastic! I changed some elements of my video of course. Such as; lighting, focus, and background. I made it closer to sixty seconds. Only two seconds shy. I also tried to be more dynamic! I think I need to shout RFIP Gloves next time. Third time is a charm. I had some great questions about the technology itself. I then had some people who were confused. They thought that I called my product creepy. I called the technology a little creepy. In which, that was the point of my product. Therefore, I tweaked my elevator pitch. I also got a whole new product idea out of this! Danielle had mentioned a bracelet. Bracelets wouldn’t be able to block the signal if the chip is implanted in your hand. However, If the chip was placed in the bracelet, that would be a different story. As far as privacy goes, security software in your phone or computer would act as the same protection. It would also not be as intimidating. There could be a disruption placed into the bracelet as well. Again, the need was privacy for the chips being planted in the hand. That's why the gloves were designed. Lots of ideas! Thank you all for the feedback.

As far as a bracelet goes, the new product idea can be like your Fitbit plus the added feature of payment options. So you're carrying your wallet on your wrist. You would have your own account to adjust elements and add apps that are the right fit for you. The new need would be for retailers to update their systems with RFID's in order for this feature to work.

  1. We worked on some of the same things this round (see my video here: http://adventuresinent.blogspot.com/2016/02/elevator-pitch-no-2.html). I think it will be tricky for you, because of the technology aspect and questions regarding that, to have a short pitch, but I'm definitely curious to know more after this video.

You look completely professional, the clean background draws my focus to you and I think you speak well. That sounds strange, but you do! You have a cool concept, and I'm interested to see what comes next.

  2. Hi Britt. I think your idea is really interesting and could be very effective in the future. What price point would you be looking at? This is a product I would definitely like to hear more about. I like your video, it is set up very professionally and you are very clear and easy to understand.
If you would like to look at my pitch here is the link.

    1. Thanks William! I was thinking of pricing them anywhere from $19.99 to $24.99. It would depend on how much it would be to get my product on the floor.

  3. Brittany,

I don’t know if this was just an issue with my computer, but it seemed like your voice was cut at several points and the video was edited. If that is the case, I would perhaps suggest that you just keep running through with the video, as you don’t really get a chance to edit in real life. I do like how you’re dressed though and your tone was ideal for a pitch. As for the idea, I am fairly confused by the technology of it. How exactly would you get all the items you need? Do they just get transported into your cart? Is it like a drop and add feature (similar to online carts?)

Your idea and mine were similar in the aspect that we both emphasized convenience in every day lives. Here is the link to mine:

    1. Natalie! Thank you for the feedback. I actually cut the video in several points on purpose. I do this to add emphasis, be dynamic, and funny. RFID's have been around for the past fifty years. RFID is the use of radio waves to read and capture information. An example is a bar code or magnetic strip on the back of your credit card. The reader for these pick up the bar code or magnetic strip’s radio waves and interprets the frequencies as data. Therefore, you can create a network. Similar to how smart houses are set up. Recently, there has been theft with bank card information, and that’s why you will see a chip instead of a magnetic strip on your card. This is all because of RFID’s. Anyone can use a scanner and read the information anywhere from two inches to a few yards. This is one of the problems of why this tech hasn’t grown. It’s because of security and disruption. Disruption, because like Wi-Fi and cell phones, RFID’s use electromagnetic fields to communicate which can contain a “hot spot” using energy at the right frequency.

  4. Thank you Jacob for your feedback. I agree. It's probably going to be some time before RFID's get to this growth level. There is a fear a lot of people have with technology having some kind of control over our lives. I think its more of a reliability type of fear. However, I think that as technology grows, so will our ability to control and secure valuable information. In the future, cash will be like checks. Once in a while, you will see them.
